It's 5:30pm on a Friday night.
The weekend is young, and our friends are out on the town.
What are we doing? Painstakingly batching syrups in a small, crowded home kitchen. A seemingly never-ending process that became part of our weekly event prep routine.
The first spark was realizing that there were a growing number of event-goers inquiring about where they could find the syrups used in our drinks.
And as our business grew, so did the need for space.
That's when the big spark happened...

The next steps were crucial in the developmental aspects of bringing a fully realized product line to life. As we took residence in a new Saskatoon studio for our sister company In The Mix Entertainment, we began planning the first stage of operations. The build-out of a commercial kitchen space began taking shape shortly after, which is now home to all of the tools we use to produce syrups faster and more efficiently. Suddenly, our small home based potion making operation went from toil & trouble to boil & bubble!

Circling back to our makeshift in-home brewing era.
A common excuse for not being able to join the weekend crew was that we were stuck at home finishing event prep. One night, as we looked around the room at the chaos of boiling pots...clouds of steam filling the air with mixed aromas... and the piles and piles of herbs and fruit remains, all we could think of is how much the scene looked like a witch in the midst of brewing her potions.
And from that moment on, whenever we had to decline invitations to festivities, our answer was simply
"We're busy making our potions."
Frequently asked...

Do these contain alcohol?
No! Our syrups are alcohol free. We've designed them this way so that they can lend themselves to non-alcoholic beverages just as much as they do cocktails. Visit our recipe page for inspiration and a guide on crafting either.

What's the shelf life?
As part of our pledge to keep our products chemical free, we use natural preservatives such as citric acid, cinnamon (an anti-microbial spice) as well as a higher sugar ratio.

What is a 2:1 syrup?
This refers to the sugar to water ratio. We make all of our potions 2 parts sugar to 1 part water, as this increases the richness of the syrup and also extends its shelf life. Being that it is high in sugar volume, you also need less!
